Note

The Old Market area (Psar Chas) is normally considered the hub of Siem Reap and has a huge concentration of bars, cafés, boutiques, and restaurants that predominantly service visitors and expats.

The area extends from the Siem Reap River up to Sivatha Boulevard with two focus points being the market itself and the aptly known Pub Street. During the early morning, vendors sell fresh produce at Old Market and you could pick up anything from live fish, turtles, and frogs to fresh herbs and vegetables.

Later in the day the sellers of local and western clothes, shoes, and arts and crafts are busy plying their trade. At night the focus shifts to Pub Street and the night markets around it with bright lights, busy street food vendors, bars, restaurants, and stalls selling souvenirs. The narrow pedestrian only laneways that run parallel to Pub Street - Alley West, The Passage, and The Lane - are interesting alternatives to Pub Street with some quality boutiques, quirky arts and crafts, and little bars and cafes.
