Brown Prince is a jewelry shop that specializes in carving into the umukoko nut. It's owned by the prince of Burundi, who helps foster a relationship between African craftsmen and Danish designers. Isabelle McAllister of Dos Family writes, "[the nut] looks like and has about the same density as ivory. They collect them from the ground and then begin the process of carving them into jewellry. They also try to use everything from the nut in the process and to help local artists gain work and education – it all sounds like a really good project."
