For committed carnivores, heaven (as far as restaurants in Cape Town go) is this crisp, sleek two-level space right across the road from Milan restaurateur Giorgio Nava's well-established 95 Keerom, where nothing but superb meat is served. Downstairs, you'll discover a smartly pared down room with light bouncing off the brushed-charcoal walls and wood-beam ceiling. Upstairs, the counters display various cuts of meat and charcuterie, and the ambience is a little less rigid. The man from Milan owns a farm in the Karoo where much of his meat is grown in the natural way, ie nothing force-fed or confined to too-small barracks. The result is meat of outstanding quality, and Nava insists that the authentic product, never overwhelmed with sauces or elaborate reductions, be allowed to show through. So, whether you're opting for beef, lamb, ostrich, or a more adventurous cut of game, chances are it'll be served pretty much au naturelle, with as little interference from the kitchen as possible-perfectly grilled to order, a dash of oil and a sprinkling of herbs.
