The Essence: Just when you thought the spoils of Portobello Road couldn’t get any richer, co-founders and raw food philanthropists Irene and Rich have opened up shop a stone’s throw away.
The Facts: After the success of their Queen’s Park start-up, NAMA has re-sized and re-located to Notting Hill. And since opening its doors in April, the bright and airy eatery has offered customers an array of unique healthy eating alternatives.
Created to promote the owner’s philosophy of ‘wellbeing through nutrition’, the all-day menu is awash with mouthwatering and expertly handcrafted raw organic cuisine. Each dish is designed to energise, detox and combat ageing.
The menu is bright, creative and masterfully executed. From the best-selling Kale salad, drizzled in NAMA’s famously full-flavoured pumpkin seed dressing, to the devilishly indulgent blueberry cheesecake, it’s hard to believe food designed to detox could look, taste and smell so intoxicating.
Rustic reclaimed tables from local community project Goldfinger Factory greet you on entry and from day one, Portobello market shoppers have relished NAMA’s friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. It’s a very special culinary experience – not to be missed.
The Find: The eatery boasts street-front tables, and extra seating downstairs in a light, window-lit basement.
