When you’re ready for a casual snack or a refreshing ice cold glass of local Brazilian beer (or “chope” as the locals call it) after a day at Leblon beach, Jobi Bar & Snack is a local favourite bar and cafe which is always busy with hungry locals and tourists alike during the entire week. Open well into the night (sometimes past 4:30 am), pull up a bar stool at one of their outdoor terrace tables or grab a seat indoors to sample some of the most delicious carne seca (dried meats, usually served with cassava french fries) in Rio de Janeiro. You’ll also find a variety of other bar snacks on the menu, including garlic chicken served on the bone, and make sure you order an ice cold chope glass of beer (a Rio specialty). The inside of this half-century-old establishment is tiny, so you’ll more than likely be crammed into a tablet or chair surrounded by a group of strangers, however this is the perfect place to make a new friend or two in Rio amongst the friendly local crowd.
