Go for the award-winning Sunday lunch at this popular Georgian-style pub in Islington. The staff are friendly, if a little too relaxed, and we waited a while between starters and mains. If you're not in a hurry though, which you shouldn't be on a Sunday, then just sit back and enjoy the ambience.
The roast Romney Salt Marsh lamb rump from Kent was perfect, served with all the trimmings including a gigantic Yorkshire pudding. Best of all, the sublime Hansen & Lydersen smoked salmon was available as a starter.
You may also want to try the whole roast suckling pig (£350), which must be ordered 72 hours in advance for sharing between 10 to 15 people (Mondays to Saturdays only). And in warm weather, sit outside at the front or in the large beer garden toward the back.
