The oyster and champagne bar at Bentley's is an intimate and elegant space where you can relax with a friend or simply dine solo. One of the oldest oyster bars in London, it's been around since 1916 but the entire restaurant has been updated since then.
Perch on a stool at the original marble topped counter and order half a dozen Whitstable or West Mersea oysters and a couple of grilled scallops, followed by the lobster bisque or rooftop smoked salmon.
Classic fish and chips and fish pie are also on the menu, but avoid the lobster spaghetti and linguine vongole. These are not the best dishes to have here, and were a costly mistake.
The bar seats are first come, first served, however you can request to be seated in the bar area and when bar stools become available, you can move. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 19.30 to 23.00, there is live piano music.
