I was first taken to Daikokuya by a Japanese friend nearly ten years ago and remember it being packed at lunch as elderly ladies ran around serving the customers.
On the last trip, my husband and I looked for it again and found the larger, more modern, branch, also in Asakusa. It's famous for their tendon or tempura donburi, tempura in a bowl of rice served with their house soy-based sauce.
