While using the word ‘edgy’ to describe hotel décor might conjure the image of a restless nights sleep, at Mama Shelter it’s important to add the words gorgeous, chic and comfortable, leaving you with a hotel that is achingly cool.
Designed by Philippe Starck the ‘god’ of the contemporary French design world, off-form concrete, stylish lighting and attention to detail are the rage here. Well priced (for Paris), don’t be mistaken, this hotel is not located in the cute medieval streets of central Paris, instead swap French matrons with fluffy white dogs for stylish students and graduates, and still cheap, romantically gritty local bars.
