Big Buddha in Lantau island

It’s the largest outdoor statue of the seated Buddha in the world: made of bronze, it measures 34 meters and weigh 250 tons. Next to it, you should visit the Po Lin Monastery where you can meet Buddhist monks. Then take a taxi or a bus to Tai Po. This old fishing village built on stilts is perfect for lunch or tea. Do not hesitated to taste the local specialities, shrimp paste and salted fish.

To go there: you can take the cable care, the new Lantau Bus No.23 & 2 or if you have time and your are courageous there is a footpath to go there
