Heidelberg Project

An amazing, large scale, outdoor art installation using found objects. It was created in 1986 by artist Tyree Guyton and his grandfather Sam Mackey, as an outdoor art environment. The vision was to transform his childhood neighborhood where the locals were scared to walk even during the day time into something better. The project worked and has developed ever since. The Heidelberg Project is recognized around the world as a demonstration of the power of creativity in creating hope and a bright vision for the future.
