The Smile

The Smile is where the artsy crowd, dressed in flannel and oxfords, sip coffee by day and wine by night. Like many of New York's coffee shops, they now serve drinks and have an ambitious diner menu in the evening. But the ambiance is first and foremost for serious coffee drinking. It is a tucked-away-basement venue, contributing to its hidden-gem quality. And it only gets better when you walk in and there is dim lighting and exposed brick.
