Le Verre Volé

A fantastic little local wine bar steps away from the Saint Martin canal. Very tiny spot that seats less than 20 - call ahead to book a table if you're making a special journey. Le Verre Volé ('the stolen glass') specialises in natural and artisan wines; it doubles as a retail shop so you can buy to take home, or pay corkage to drink it in the restaurant. The food is fresh and creative; I still remember very vividly a veal tartare and fantastic charcuterie.
