Kubrick is attached to the Broadway Cinematheque, a cinema that often shows a variety of indie films as well as the more usual blockbusters. The newly-renovated café and bookshop is a rare find in HK. Open and spacious with plenty of gorgeous natural light (4-5pm here is especially beautiful with the soft late afternoon sun streaming through the windows), it's often packed out with young hip arty types with their Macbooks and magazines.
One half of the room is dedicated to the café, which serves surprisingly good fairtrade coffee and teas (the honey almond is a revelation) and light meals.
The other half is given over to books and magazines (mainly Chinese) and local crafts for sale. A good selection of film literature is available here, naturally, and also a surprisingly interesting collection of foreign magazines (including many back issues of Gastronomica).
