When visiting the Royal Artillery Barracks to watch the shooting events at the Olympics this summer head to Dial Arch just 5 minutes walk from Woolwich Arsenal station. Housed in the original gatehouse of the British Defence and dating from 1720, this historic place has been transformed. There is a cosy Pantry where you can pick up breakfast, coffee, and snacks. The large pub has been thoughtfully designed with the interior reflecting both the past and embracing the style and space of the present. The bar menu serves tasty ciabattas, small snacks and deli platters. Their Artisan breads come highly recommended. The larger menu has traditional favourites including salads, fish and chips and moules as well as metre long pizzas. There is a large outdoor area covered (and heated if necessary) .If you can tear yourself away after re-fuelling you can visit Firepower, the Royal Artillery Museum just a couple of minutes away.
