Note

Preah Ang Dongker is a holy shrine located on the Phnom Penh riverside in front of the Royal Palace. The place is worshipped by Cambodian people who believe that their wishes will come true if they pray at Preah Ang Dongker. The site is especially popular during student exams and Buddhist holy days where crowds flock to the shrine to worship and wish for good luck. They bring incense sticks and offer alms such as lotus and jasmine flowers, coconuts, candles and fruit. Traditional music is played live at the site as a thank you for prayers that have been answered. Preah Ang Dongker is an interesting place to visit if you want to learn more about Cambodians religious practices and beliefs first hand. From 4.30pm to dusk is a good time to visit.
