Hotel Antico Doge

When we stayed (a family of 3 in a superior room) the cost was "reasonable" for Venice at around €240 a night over the weekend. Lovely decor of the classier sort, though never gauche. Our room had a mezzanine level for two of the beds, which was a quaint surprise. Breakfast is a hearty buffet that includes fresh breads and pastries, ham (including prosciutto) and cheese, fresh fruits, cereals and yoghurts. The location is brilliant, and close to most of the main sites in Venice - about 10-15 minutes walk to San Marco - and close to a vaporetto stop (Ca' d'Oro). The receptionists are super friendly and have some pretty decent restaurant recommendations.
