Du Pain et des Idées

One of my favourite bakeries in Paris. It's a delight to look at from the outside, but even better within - if you like your bread and pastries, you'll feel like a kid in a candy shop. My favourite thing to get every time are the escargots – pastry swirls – in the pistachio and chocolate flavours. Perfect, flakey, rich and the ideal breakfast. Don't leave without picking up a loaf or a large chunk of their signature pain des amis – a thick-crusted flat loaf with a nutty flavour.
