Owned by the Doyles family for five generations, Doyles on the Beach at Watson's Bay opened in 1885 and remains a favourite of those wanting a Sydney Harbour dining experience, but in a relaxed setting - the view back down the harbour is postcard perfect!
Start with an Australian classic, the Prawn cocktail ($19.60) or freshly opened Sydney Rock Oysters (1 doz $26.70). Fish and Chips ($39) aren't the cheapest in town but with this view, who cares! The Doyles Fisherman's Platter for two ($138) is a fabulous way to try the best of Australian seafood with Whole Lobster Mornay, Blue Swimmer Crab, Scallop Mornay, Smoked Salmon, fresh Prawns, Golden Fried Fish Fillets, Calamari and Jumbo Prawns all on one plate. Non-seafood eaters are catered for with steak and salads. While it's not the coolest restaurant in town, it's the perfect place to take in the harbour views.
