Samatoa is an ethical women’s clothing designer selling high quality clothes made from silk, cotton, kapok, and natural lotus fibre. All the products are made in Cambodia and the business aims to help Cambodian women attain better standards of living through providing continued training, professional work opportunities and paying fair wages.
The products are designed in creatively mixing Cambodian traditional style with western expectations while respecting nature, local culture, and social values. The most admired creation is the thread extracted from the lotus which produces a luxury, eco-friendly, and breathable fibre.
Samatoa was awarded the 2012 UNESCO Award for Excellence with its sarong made from lotus fabric.
