Smarteria

The old adage, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, is true at Smarteria, which produces beautiful accessories from recycled materials.

Established in 2001, the fair trade business employs 70 staff, mainly young women, has four stores in Cambodia, and exports to 13 different countries. Smarteria staff are given good training, fair wages, and the opportunity to earn a living through transforming old fishing nets, plastic bags, motorbike seat covers, used fabrics, and other recycled materials into good quality bags and accessories.
