Phare, The Cambodian Circus is an international standard performance by talented artists from Phare Poleu Selpak’s vocational training centre.
Phare is a breathtaking mix of acrobatics, contortion, juggling, fire stick throwing, tightrope, traditional music, dance, and theatre. New shows run every few weeks and tackle themes inspired by real life such as love, discrimination, and growing up in Cambodia in the most spirited and entertaining way imaginable.
The big top is located opposite Angkor Century Hotel and behind the Angkor National Museum. The daily show starts at 7.30pm and goes for roughly one hour. Tickets cost $15 USD per adult. An onsite café allows guests to eat dinner before or after the show or purchase snacks to have during the performance.
Phare performers are all from vulnerable households and the circus has provided a tool to build their artistic careers. Profits from the circus also support the educational and social programs of Phare.
