ConCERT

Most visitors to Cambodia are touched by the warmth and generosity, yet extreme poverty of the local people. Many want to do something to help. Often people hear about scams and are unsure the best way to give support.

ConCERT (Connecting Communities, Environment and Responsible Tourism) is a Siem Reap based not-for-profit organisation that ensures Cambodia’s poorest and most vulnerable people benefit from tourism by connecting visitors with humanitarian activities that need support. The organisation has 25 member projects that meet strict criteria covering everything from how they are managed and operated through to their financial systems and child protection policies.

From landmine removal, care of children, to vocational training, sex trafficking, and animal conservation, ConCERT can put you in contact with a project that is doing great things for Cambodia. The offices in Siem Reap are just down from the Night Market and visitors are encouraged to drop in.

There is a range of information as well as people who can talk with you about what you would like to do. Whether it is eating for a cause, donating blood, volunteering, donating money, fair trade shopping, visiting a project, or just researching the options, ConCERT is a great place to drop in.
