Hope and Greenwood

Be warned, this traditional sweet shop is always packed with customers, whether tourists curious to taste old fashioned British sweets or British adults nostalgic for their childhood favourites.

It reminded me of an upmarket version of my boarding school tuck shop. The entire back wall is lined with glass jars filled with all sweet things imaginable, from 'rhubarb & custard' and sherbet lemons to fizzy cola bottles and liquorice gems. All the sweets are made in London or Northern England using traditional recipes.

A medium bag (£2.75 for 200g) gives you two choices of sweets.
