Columbia Road Flower Market

Despite it being incredibly busy no matter what time on Sunday morning you turn up, I still think Columbia Road is worth a visit for the experience.

Tourists and locals jostle against each other as they work their way down the narrow path between the packed flower and plant stalls. And your ears will be ringing as the stallholders shout out their special deals for all to hear.

Don't forget to visit the many independent shops along the road, selling everything from vintage goods and kitchenware to perfume and jewellery. I like Openhouse for home and garden accessories, Treacle for delicious British cakes and last but not least unique perfume boutique Angela Flanders.

Shops and market open every Sunday from 08.00 to around 15.00. Some shops are also open during the week, so please check the website.
