Sun Point Nature Trail

The Sun Point Nature Trail is the perfect starting point for any number of hikes in the St. Mary Lake area of Glacier National Park. From the parking area, visitors can head up the short trail to the Sun Point viewing area, which offers stunning views of St. Mary Lake. The trail also leads to three different, yet equally amazing, waterfalls: Baring Falls, St. Mary Falls and Virginia Falls. For the more adventurous hiker, there are trails that lead deep into the heart of the park where beautiful lakes and backcountry camping spots abound. // Little known: Sun Point used to be the location of the Going-to-the-Sun Chalets in the early 1900’s.
