Happy hour in style.
Raffles Le Royal, a historical luxury hotel built in 1929, has welcomed many famous guests including Charlie Chaplin, Somerset Maugham, Jackie Kennedy, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama. It was also a refuge for journalists covering the civil war in Cambodia until day zero, when the Khmer Rouge regime came to power.
The hotel is located across from the American Embassy and near Wat Phnom in the heart of the city and is one of the most charming and atmospheric hotels in Phnom Penh.
The hotel's happy hour in the Elephant Bar is quite popular, since drinks are half price. No visit to the hotel would be complete without one of the famous signature cocktails, Femme Fatale, which was named in honour of Jackie Kennedy and the drink that she enjoyed there in 1967. In memory of her visit, her lipstick-stained glass is on display.
