You might not think that visiting a post office would be the most thrilling of activities, but Phnom Penh's is a little different.
Phnom Penh Post Office was constructed in the 1890s during the French colonization of Cambodia. The building has gone through many renovations and restorations but it still preserves its style of French colonial architecture. Today, it continues to operate as the central post office of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications. The Post Office is one of a few well preserved French colonial buildings in the area, and is particularly good for capturing on film early in the morning.
The Post Office opens from 7:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, with two hours from 11am to 1pm as closed for lunch.
