Khmer kickboxing is a martial arts form that was practiced by Khmer people long before the Angkorian era. The evidence of this martial art is depicted on the wall of Bayon Temple, and in other temple carvings showing warfare.
Today, Khmer kickboxing is one of the most popular national sports with an international reputation. Khmer kickboxing is also referred to as 'free boxing', which means the boxer can use all kinds of strikes from punches and kicks, to elbows and knee strikes, but there also some rules and limitations as well (phew!).
The boxing is shown live at CTN TV Station every Sunday at 16:00. Tickets are free of charge.
